T-Ball

Aubrey is going to play t-ball this year. She's finally old enough to start playing, and I am pretty excited about it. I loved playing softball (and sports in general) as a kid and hope that Aubrey will too. She's going to be on a team with quite a few kids from her school (none from her class but that's okay), and the coach is actually our neighbor. I'm glad that she's going to know some of the kids already - she can be pretty shy. She got a glove for Christmas, but we really haven't worked too much on it. With the weather getting warmer and t-ball starting soon, we thought that we should start working with her at least a little so she has some idea of what to do. Calvin bought her a tee and a bat to practice with yesterday. We only had a wiffle ball tee set, which isn't quite the same as a heavier bat and ball. After mowing the lawn yesterday, Calvin worked with Aubrey (Chloe too) on hitting, running the bases, and catching. They all had so much fun! It was so cute watching Calvin out there with the girls teaching them some basic fundamentals. I think he had just as much fun as they did. Aubrey loved it and wants to play again tonight. Hopefully the rain will stop and she'll be able to.
