Happy Easter!

This year for Easter we went to mom and dad's house. Hannah and David decided to have Gabe's baptism on Easter Sunday, so we were able to do both things at one time. As an added plus, it rained all last week, which meant that Calvin could come with us because he couldn't be in the field. We couldn't leave until Calvin was done working on Friday, so we didn't get to mom and dad's until late. The girls did great in the car - they didn't even fall asleep until the last 20 minutes or so. They, of course, were very excited to be at grandma's and didn't want to go to bed right away. The next day turned out to be beautiful! The weather was warm and sunny. The girls played outside most of the day. They helped Grandpa pick up sticks outside, drew pictures with chalk, made Easter cookies, colored Easter eggs, had an Easter egg hunt, made a new friend, went to the park, went out to eat for Grandpa's birthday, and then played Frisbee with Daddy. Needless to say, they were exhausted by the time bed time came around.

On Easter morning we woke up to rain. The sidewalks were wet and it was cool and still sprinkling. Because Gabe was getting baptized at the 11:00 a.m. service, we just ate breakfast at home. I'm not going to lie, I definitely missed having Easter breakfast at school before church like we normally do, but it was worth it to be there for Gabe's baptism. After eating breakfast, we hunted for our Easter baskets. Mom makes all of us a basket and then makes us all hunt for them. The girls had a great time looking for their baskets and then looking at all of the things the Easter bunny left for them. They were very excited! The rest of us finally found our baskets right before we had to leave for church.

All dressed and ready to go - not sure where Daddy was

As Dad said, this dress made me look big. :) I'm 35 weeks, 4 days here.

The church service was great! Gabe was an angel and slept through the entire service - even his baptism. Every time I go to their church, I am just amazed by how personable their pastor is and what a great speaker he is. He never gets flustered by things that don't exactly go as planned and he doesn't use notes to give his sermon. (Granted he does have basically a powerpoint that goes along with his sermon, but still.) The girls went up for a children's message, which I was very proud of, especially since we were at a new place and sat great through the whole service.

After the service, we came back to mom's for dinner. The girls each got to hold Gabe one more time before we ate while he slept. The food was wonderful, and we all ate way too much. We even had ice cream cake for dessert. After opening presents and eating cake, we had to leave. We took Jenna and her boyfriend Scott back to school on our way home, so we needed to leave a little earlier in order to do that. The girls were great in the car on the way back home and did finally fall asleep for maybe 45 minutes. They were exhausted from their busy weekend! :)

Looks like the perfect weekend! Your family is beautiful, and I think you are the cutest pregnant lady EVER! (I know you probably don't feel that way right now... but truly!)
