Chloe's New Teeth

Chloe finally has some teeth! One of her top two teeth broke through on Thursday, while the other one broke through yesterday. Hooray! I've been waiting for her to get teeth for so long. I think that she's also starting to get her bottom ones, because her bottom gums are swollen and it almost looks like there are little white lines where her teeth should be. No wonder she's been kind of cranky this week off and on! I attempted to get a picture of her new teeth, but no such luck. She tried eating the camera every time I tried. Maybe when they come in better I'll be able to get one.

The girls have been cracking me up lately! Chloe plays so well - she just bounces from toy to toy making a huge mess as she goes, but hey, she's playing, so I really shouldn't complain. She loves to sit in your lap to read books, even though most of the time she just likes to look at the pictures. She'll bring a book over to me and will back up until she's sitting on my lap. She gets very mad if I'm not sitting up so she can sit on my lap. She's also starting to understand some things. She'll give me her pacifier after nap when I ask for it, attempt to put food into Calvin's mouth when he asks for some, and will sometimes bring me something that she has. It's really cool to see her start to develop some language skills. She's also pretty much gotten over her fear of people. We went shopping last week and I let her get down (big mistake!). Aubrey always stayed right beside me. Not Chloe! She took off as fast as she could get away from me. Needless to say, she was not happy when she had to be held.
Aubrey has been making supper for herself and her "baby" as I make supper at night. I put a stool up to the counter and she'll get out all of the spices and put some in a bowl with cheerios and make her supper. She loves it when Chloe wakes up and she can feed Chloe some too. The other night she made cheerios with ground mustard and oregano. She tried it and decided that it didn't taste very good. Good thing Chloe was asleep and didn't have to try that "supper". :) Aubrey is also loving music. She got a Christmas CD from Aunt Sharon and absolutely loves to listen to it and dance. She'll even run around the kitchen table if I put songs on for her to dance to in the kitchen. It's pretty funny!
Aubrey drew a fish on the magnadoodle.
I babysat Clare and Sophia this week. Sophia was at school and the three girls were anxiously awaiting her arrival home.

Mommy, Chloe's pulling a toy!

On Monday, I was busy in the kitchen cleaning up from breakfast when Aubrey started yelling excitedly, "Mommy, Chloe's pulling a toy!" I looked over at Chloe, who was pulling a puppy that she got for Christmas. Aubrey was so proud of Chloe and started telling her "good job". Aubrey then got the caterpillar, which also can be pulled, and started walking behind Chloe. They chased (more like Chloe tried to keep up with Aubrey) each other around the table and had a blast! Aubrey thought it was hilarious when their strings would get tangled up. It was so cute to see them playing together!

Another Party for Chloe?!?

Last Sunday we celebrated Chloe's birthday (along with Abby's, Luke's, and Kathy's birthdays) with Calvin's family. Aubrey was very confused why Chloe got to have another birthday party when we already celebrated Chloe's birthday the week before and it wasn't her birthday any more. I had told her that the next person's birthday in our family was hers, so she was ready to celebrate her birthday, not Chloe's. After some explaining, she was okay with the fact that Chloe gets two birthday parties and was happy to be going to Aunt Kathy's house to play.

Chloe's 1st Birthday

We celebrated Chloe's birthday with my side this past weekend. Chloe wasn't too sure about her cake, until Calvin started feeding it to her. She ate most of it though. She surprisingly didn't make a mess with the cake. After eating cake, she then opened her presents with a little help. She had a great birthday!

12 month pictures

We took Chloe's final couch picture this week. As you can see, it was a challenge to get a good one. Aubrey wanted her picture taken too, of course.

Randomness

Aubrey wanted Chloe to try out her "new" carseat. Chloe wasn't too excited about it. Doesn't she look so little in it?

Aubrey got to pick out valentines to take to her library Valentine's Day party. She chose butterfly ones with tattoos. The first few days, she didn't want to get a tattoo, because she was afraid that it would hurt. But then, she picked one out that she liked and we put it on and she loved it! It's just like Daddy's.

Chloe's crazy hair!
Eileen went through some old clothes that she had and found Aubrey some chore clothes. Aubrey's been feeding two baby goats and loves to help Daddy do chores.

Cousins

Last week, Sophia and Clare came over several days. We bought a new TV and a carseat for Aubrey, so we had several large boxes that the girls used to make a house in the living room. They had a blast! The big box was their bed, while the smaller box was their door. They also ended up turning the couch into their bathroom and kitchen.
My family came for Chloe's birthday this past weekend. The kids had a great time playing together, even Colton and Chloe.

Another Week - Still Sick

I am so sick of the girls being sick! Last week Aubrey started with the runny nose and coughing that Chloe and Calvin had. She also started complaining about her throat hurting every now and then. Then this week, Chloe started with the runny nose again and coughing. Seriously! On Wednesday, her eye was a little goopy when she woke up, which I figured was just from her cold. Then Thursday morning, it was even worse, so I called the doctor and talked to a nurse who said it could be caused by her cold, but they would like to see her. So Friday, I took both girls (they both had gross noses) to the doctor. Turns out, Chloe had pink eye, which had spread to both eyes, plus Aubrey's eyes were a little yucky that morning. Aubrey had a double ear infection and a red throat! I was not expecting that at all. Yes, she had been complaining occassionally, but I thought it was because she wanted medicine (she loves it). Now they are both on amoxycillin (thankfully they both love it now) and eye drops, which have to be given three times a day, two drops in each eye, for SEVEN days! The first day was horrible. I literally had to pin Chloe's arms and legs down, put her head between my feet, and pry her eyelids open, while she was screaming. Aubrey was much better. Today though, when I put drops in, they both laid still and didn't cry nearly so much. I guess they are getting used to it. So far, Calvin and I have not gotten it, nor have my nieces who were at my house all day Thursday (sorry Ang!). Hopefully we will all get healthy and can stay that way for a little while at least.
On another note, I talked to Nic today! It was great! He sounded good, except that he has a cold, so his voice sounds horrible! He said that he loves the letters that he's getting, so keep them coming. :) He also said that he had talked to Ingrid several times, which I'm so happy about. He's down to seven more weeks (I think mom said 47 days) until his graduation.
Chloe loves to play in the canned foods cupboard. She found these bacon bits and carried them all over the house.
Chloe's angry face - she makes it a lot!
I was trying to get Aubrey to drink her juice, so I gave her a medicine dropper to use. She proceeded to squirt juice into her mouth until it was all gone.
Chloe's favorite toy is Aubrey's doctor's kit. She will bring it to you to open and will then take out the stethoscope and put it around her neck as you can see. She'll then walk all around with it like this. She's such a silly girl!
Aubrey painting
Chloe's goopy eye - I know her hair is a mess. I had put it in pigtails and she, of course, pulled them out so that her hair was in her eyes.
Aubrey got all of her babies together and read them books. It was so cute!
Yesterday, we went to Champaign to buy Aubrey a new car seat. Chloe needs her old one, so we had to get Aubrey a new one. She wanted a purple one, but we ended up with a pink one with butterflies. She was okay with that. Chloe also loves her new big girl car seat.
