Jenna's . . . Wedding?

For the past week, Aubrey has been getting all dressed up (complete with shoes of course) and telling us that she is going to Jenna's wedding. The first time she said it, I was very confused and asked her if she was going to Hannah's wedding. She looked at me blankly and said no, she was going to Jenna's wedding. When I asked her who Jenna was marrying, she was puzzled for about ten seconds before replying, "I don't know . . . I think probably Grandpa." I just left it at that. :) A couple days later, Aubrey went to Jenna's wedding again. This time when asked who Jenna was marrying, she said, "I think her friend or something". Yesterday, she got all dressed up again, complete with her baby's matching outfit, to go to Jenna's wedding. (Wow Jen. Really? Three weddings in a matter of a week.) This time when asked who Jenna was marrying, Aubrey said, "probably her wife." We'll see what she says the next time she goes to Jenna's wedding.

Chloe has really started talking (or at least trying to) a lot lately. She can now say: mommy, daddy, Aubrey (it's really cute when she says this), Papa, more, please, thank you, cheese, bucket, baby, drink, hi, bye-bye, and eye. There's probaby more, but I can't think of any other's right now. She definitely tries to tell you things too but I don't get half of what she's saying. I think she's definitely going to be a talker though. :)

Clare's Birthday

Last Saturday we went and celebrated Clare's birthday at her impromptu party. Ang had cupcakes lined up in the shape of a "2", which the girls absolutely loved. Chloe ate three of them (and yes, she did sleep that night). The girls had fun, and Aubrey definitely did not want to go home.

Happy birthday Clare!

Yummy cupcakes!

Notice that Chloe's cupcake is almost completely gone, while Aubrey has barely started hers.

Chloe got stuck in the chair and couldn't get out. She didn't let go of the bucket though. :)

Houseful

Aubrey has been telling me a lot lately that she "just needs someone to come over to play with". Well, last week, she had lots of people to choose from to play with. On Thursday, I ended up watching my nieces (four of them) and Calvin's cousin's little boy. They were great - especially the older ones who love playing together and help entertain one another. I ended up making apple juice popsicles (thanks for the idea Ingrid!), and they loved them! They were sticky messes when they were finished, so I just sprayed them with the hose. Needless to say, they all needed baths that night!

Cheese!

I cleaned out one of my cupboards today and found my old 35mm camera. As I was trying to decide what I was going to do with it, Aubrey asked if she could use it. I thought sure, why not? She played with that thing all afternoon! She loved walking around pretending to take pictures. She would "take" a picture and then turn it around like it was a digital camera and say something like, "Oh, that was a good one." or "Ahh! That was really cute!". She even wandered around outside taking pictures of Chloe and I (Chloe would sit there and say "Chee" for cheese), the cows, the house, and even the trampoline. Even Chloe got in on the action when Aubrey let her take a turn with it. Who knew an old camera could turn into such a great toy!

Dani's Party

We had an open house for Danielle yesterday. It was a lot of fun and we had tons of good food!

Dani's Graduation

Today was Danielle's graduation from Purdue University. Dani only had four tickets, so Mom, Dad, Hannah, Aubrey, and I went to the actual graduation ceremony, while Jenna and her friend Kelli hung out at Dani's apartment. The ceremony was very cool! The speakers were great, we had awesome seats, and it only lasted two hours. Aubrey did amazing - she sat so well and seemed to have a good time. After the ceremony, we took some pictures and then went back to pick up Jenna and Kelli. We then celebrated by eating out at a nice restaurant. Congratulations Dani!

A Tasty Treat?

Chloe is definitely in the oral stage of developing. Everything goes in her mouth! Today, for example, she chewed a sticker, hairband, mulch, and cat food. I got all of it out before she swallowed anything, but she is fast. How those things can possibly taste good, I'll never know. She had a whole mouthful of cat food and didn't seem to mind one bit. Gross!

Bye Bye Paci!

Yesterday I took Chloe's pacifier away. I've been meaning to do it for awhile but have been too lazy/scared. She sleeps so great and I didn't want to mess with that. But . . . I took it away and it was not nearly as bad as I thought it was going to be. The first nap involved a lot of crying and reaching for her bed, because she thought her paci was in there. I put her in bed and she cried for about five minutes and then went to sleep. Her second nap was better with a lot less crying. When I put her to bed last night, she didn't cry at all and went to sleep all on her own. What a good girl! Today she didn't seem to miss it at all and was perfectly fine with not having it. I guess I should have gotten rid of it a lot sooner! :)

Update on Chloe

Chloe had her 15 month check-up last week. She is now 31 1/2 inches long and in the 75th percentile. She weighs 18 pounds 12 ounces and in the 5-10th percentile (this is where she's been for the past 6 months). She was such a stinker for the doctor and cried the entire time she examined Chloe. The doctor and I both agreed that she is very stubborn and head-strong. :)

Mother's Day

Happy Mother's Day! I am so thankful for my two precious gifts! While they do drive me crazy sometimes, I cannot imagine my life without them.

Chloe + Sugar = Craziness

The girls helped Danielle and I make puppy chow last night before they went to bed. Aubrey, of course, wanted to "taste" the chocolate chips so I gave her some. Chloe then needed some also, because Aubrey was eating food. Somehow Chloe ended up on one of the kitchen chairs possessively holding the chocolate chips bag and eating them. I let her have some, but then took it away. About half an hour later, the sugar must have kicked in for Chloe because she became really hyper and was running around screaming. It was actually pretty funny. It must have worn off by the time she went to bed though, because she slept just fine.

Trip to Grandpa & Grandma's

We spent last weekend at mom and dad's house. We hadn't been there since October so I decided that we should go and see them. The girls had a lot of fun playing at the park and having some undivided attention from quite a few people. :) We also found material for the girls' dresses and the boys' shirts that mom is going to make for Hannah's wedding. We also got to see where Hannah works and went out to eat with her and David. Aubrey got to ride on an escalator, which she loved. The girls did great in the car. They watched a movie and slept almost the entire time. We had a great time!

Chloe swang in a big swing for the first time.

Aubrey and I went down the tunnel slide together.

Aubrey practiced her climbing.

Chloe loved being outside and playing at the park.
Chloe, of course, had to try climbing too.
Aubrey was talking to Calvin while going down the slide. What a great multi-tasker! :)
