This past Sunday was our annual church picnic. The weather was gorgeous - sunny and warm with a breeze that made the heat more tolerable. We were able to have church outside, which I love. Coye actually did much better being outside and hardly made any noise at all during the whole service. It was great! After church, we hurried home to try and get the boys (Hannah came for the weekend to see Aubrey's t-ball game on Saturday) to take a nap before heading back to church to eat at the picnic stand. Gabe ended up taking a great nap while Coye woke up after only a half hour. We ate a quick lunch of pork burgers before Calvin and the girls had to go and ride on the Pfingsten float that his mom helped put together. Apparently the Pfingstens are in the 6th generation of people that are members at St. Paul's - very cool. Hannah, mom, dad, the boys, and I all watched the parade from the side and collected candy for the girls. The boys loved the parade and were mesmerized by everything that went by. They didn't really get the picking up candy part though. After the parade, the girls were part of the school program in the gym and sang some songs and did a couple short poems. The rest of the afternoon was spent playing games, watching the girls jump in the bouncy house, more eating, and visiting. It was a great day, and the kids were all exhausted by the time we got home. Coye ate some supper (there wasn't a lot for him to eat at the picnic) at home and then I gave baths and put the kids to bed. They were all in bed and asleep before 8 p.m.
