Last week, Chloe got her 2nd round of immunizations. She woke up the next day with a hard, red spot on one of her legs where she had gotten her shots. It was like this the next day also, so I took her back to the doctor because they were worried about it being infected. It ended up being a bruised muscle rather than an infection. The redness has now finally gone away, but there is still a little hardness in her leg.
Father's Day was a beautiful day (minus the wind and early morning and late afternoon rain). We had Calvin's side of the family over for a cook-out. The kids had a blast on Aubrey's swingset and loved playing in the sand also. Aubrey enjoyed having her cousins over to play with. She and Sophia even helped Calvin bottle feed one of the baby goats. Calvin ended up missing church as he was helping his dad replant beans, but he was able to be in the house most of the rest of the day to spend time with the girls.
Chloe has been pretty fussy lately. She is pretty good and happy in the morning, but after that she gets kind of cranky. I think it has to do with the fact that she doesn't sleep that much and is therefore tired. Yesterday, I ended up leaving her in bed after she cried and she went back to sleep for a while longer. She was slightly better when she woke up. She also likes to be entertained and gets mad after being in one place for longer than about five minutes. I can't wait for her to be able to sit up, so that she can hopefully entertain herself a bit better!
This week Chloe found her feet and loves to hold on to them. She also found that she likes sucking on her tongue. She will either suck on it or her bottom lip, which leads to the funniest faces. I've also decided that she is just going to be a loud child. She loves to make high-pitched screaming noises. She's also started this thing where she holds her breath causing her face to turn red and then grunts. I'm not really sure why she does this. Mom says it's her way of entertaining herself.
Aubrey has been a typical two year old. She has her good moments, but we've also seen our fair share of tantrums here lately. It seems that if she doesn't get what she wants, she immediately starts crying and screaming. I try ignoring her, which sometimes works. Other times, I try to distract her with something else and then she is fine. It's such an act! For the most part, though, she is a very good girl. She is excellent at playing by herself. Yesterday, we brought the My Little Ponies down from her room, and she played with them all day. Her two favorite things right now are her swingset and the baby goats. She loves to watch them play in the pasture, and we make several trips a day outside to see them!
I put Aubrey's hair in a French braid for the first time. It wasn't real tight, but it sure looked cute!
Sisters, sisters!
Aubrey helped me make brownies and had the job of licking the spoon.

Daddy and his two little girls
Aubrey is so good about helping to entertain Chloe. (Check out Chloe's hair. Isn't it wild?!)
Princess Aubrey
Chloe loves playing with her toes!
Aubrey was giving her baby a pony ride, just like we do to her.
Doesn't she look so grown up?
