Last Tuesday was my birthday and I turned the big 3-0. To be honest, turning 30 hasn't bothered me at all. Really, it's just a number and doesn't mean anything. I don't feel any different or any older than when I was 29. I think that it may have something to do with the fact that while I'm the oldest in my family, I'm the youngest among my friends. It makes for a great balance and aides in me not panicking about turning 30. :) Danielle ended up coming down the weekend before to visit and help celebrate my birthday. She brought me a basket of presents from her and my two other sisters. The sweetest thing they gave me was a "top 30 reasons why we love our big sister". It was so sweet and of course made me cry. Danielle also made me a t-shirt that had the year I was born on it. They also gave me chocolate, Laffy Taffy, and some other candy (most of which were in the quantities of 30). On my actual birthday, two of my friends sent me a beautiful bouquet of flowers with some balloons, on of which had a 30 on it. They still look beautiful, even after having them for almost a week. Eileen brought over supper and she and Denny ate with us. It was so great to not have to cook my own birthday meal. All in all, it was a great birthday and I'm so thankful for everything that God has given to me this past year.
