Baby Gabe

Last weekend the girls and I headed to Fort Wayne to go and visit my new nephew, Gabriel James. We hadn't seen him yet, so we were all very excited to see him. We got to Hannah and David's house around 5:30 p.m. Friday evening. Aubrey was the first one to hold Gabe - she had been so excited to hold him all week. She was in her glory. She probably sat and held him for close to ten minutes before I finally convinced her to let Chloe have a turn. Chloe liked holding him, but lost interest after a few minutes, which was fine with me as I hadn't had a chance to hold him yet. He is so tiny and cute! You forget how tiny they are. After eating supper, we got to watch him get his first bath. The girls loved watching this and kept trying to give him toys to play with. They were pretty funny!

The next day we went shopping in the morning and then went to Hannah's house to hang out with them. The girls had brought their babies and some baby stuff. They spent 2-3 hours playing in Gabe's nursery. I'm not really sure what they did in there the whole time, but they had a lot of fun and didn't destroy anything. They were sooo good!

After church on Sunday, we ate dinner and then I took pictures of Gabe, David, and Hannah - the weather was beautiful! Mom took the girls to the park to play, since I had promised to do that before we left. When the girls got back, it was time to go home. We had had such a busy weekend that I thought for sure they would nap at least some on the way home, but they didn't. They were really good though, so I can't complain. It was a long drive home - I was pretty tired, but we made it. It was such a great weekend, but it was good to be home.

Aubrey kept saying how much she loved holding Gabe and couldn't wait for our baby to be born so she could hold him/her all the time. She's so sweet!
