Growing Up

Chloe went pee-pee in the potty tonight for the second time. Hooray! She's been sitting on the potty for forever that it's exciting that she's actually gone now. She's also started looking for things with letters on them and whenever she sees any letters, she'll point to them and say, "Now I know my ABC's!". She's such a goofy girl!
Watching a movie together - I love these moments!

Grandpa & Grandma Come to Visit

Mom and Dad came to visit this weekend. Aubrey had been so excited for weeks knowing that they were coming. She even told Mrs. Schuldt, her preschool teacher, who helped her count down the days. Both girls loved having Grandma and Grandpa here as did I. I didn't have to change a single diaper on Saturday. Awesome! :)

Basement Pictures

So our basement has been sort of finished for a couple of months now and I have yet to post any pictures. So, here's our sort of finished basement. We're just missing some trim and carpet, but it doesn't matter, because we can still use it. It's awesome and so nice to have the extra space! We rarely ever use the upstairs living room, and now the girls have a space for their toys.

Babies & Reading

Here's just a few pictures of what the girls have been up to the past week - lots of book reading and baby playing.

Chloe always calls Aunt Dani when she's on the phone.

After Chloe finished her lunch the other day, she wanted a cookie. After she ate that cookie, she wanted another one. I told her no. She told me in a very stern, angry voice, " Don't say that . . . right now . . . I spank your booty." Wow! Where did that come from?
Last night I was talking to Aubrey before bed. I was leaning over her, and she held my hair out to the side and said, "Mommy, when I hold your hair out like this, you look like Dora (the Explorer)." Thanks honey! That's just the look I was going for when I got my hair cut. NOT!!

Twelve?!

A couple of days ago I was washing dishes in the kitchen. The girls were sitting together in the recliner reading books. They were so cute! Aubrey was reading books to her baby, and Chloe was reading to herself. After a while, Chloe started counting and made it all the way from 1 - 12 and then said 14, 14, 14, 14, 14. I thought maybe it was a fluke, so I listened again, and sure enough, she counted to 12. I quick got out the camera and tried to tape her doing it. After a couple of tries, she finally did it for me. She continues to amaze me! She must have an awesome memory. (I was reminded today that it runs in my family. I think mine disappeared when my children were born though. :)

Chloe and her books

Chloe loves to read and look at books. Right now some of her favorite books are Corduroy's Busy Street, Count on Us (a Pooh counting book), I Love You Through and Through, Fun on the Farm, and anything that has a cow in it. Today I had the girls sit down and make a video for Colton and Maximus. After they were done with that, Chloe got herself some books and sat back down to read.

Updates

Both girls lately have begun to play "hairdresser", where they sit you down and do your hair with barrettes and get out the curling irons to curl your hair. Chloe is hilarious - she's figured out how to open the curling iron and puts it in your hair and pulls. Nine times out of ten it hurts and I yell! She'll then put her face really close to yours and ask, "It hurts?" After I tell her yes, she continues to do it. Sometimes she'll even ask, "What's wrong?" She also loves to play with her baby and the kitchen. The baby has to do whatever she does. Tonight, I told her to look through the oven window and look at the pizza that was cooking. She had to get her baby, turn its head to the window, and then say, "See baby" so the baby could see the pizza too. She also continues to get into everything! This week she managed to get my powder foundation open and spill it all down the front of her shirt and onto the floor. What a mess!

Don't you just love her face?
Aubrey took this picture of Chloe.

Nice shoes Chlo! She got up on this chair all by herself with those on. Scary huh?

Aubrey loves being the big sister and relishes in her role most of the time, unless Chloe's doing something that she doesn't like. Then she gets mad and refuses to play with her while she goes and pouts. I feel like this is a continous cycle with them. They play well together at times, while other times, they just need their space. I guess that's pretty normal. She loves to create and make things. Last week the girls made and painted pumpkins. I guess I'll have to come up with something for them to do this week too. They love it!
